A Century of Champions: Windward Islands School Games Return to Saint Lucia

For more than 100 years, the Windward Islands School Games have stood as one of the Caribbean's most treasured sporting traditions—developing generations of young athletes while strengthening the bonds between Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

From July 24 to August 2, 2026, Saint Lucia will once again become the home of regional school sports as the next generation of stars compete for national pride across multiple disciplines.

For many of these student-athletes, this is more than just a tournament. It is the beginning of a journey that could lead to CARIFTA, collegiate scholarships, international championships, and even the Olympic Games.

Over the past century, the Windward Islands School Games have provided countless young athletes with their first opportunity to wear their country's colours and compete on the regional stage. This enduring legacy continues to inspire a new generation to dream bigger and reach higher.
