Young Footballers Take Centre Stage in Cool & Smooth Under-14 League

School pride and youthful talent will be on display today, Monday, October 12, as the Boys Under-14 competition continues in the Cool & Smooth Secondary Schools' Football League 2026.

Five matches are scheduled across Clarehall, AGS and Potters, giving supporters an opportunity to cheer on their schools and young players another chance to test their skills.

At Clarehall, PMS faces SNRA at 2:30 p.m., followed by CHSS against IBWS at 3:40 p.m. The programme at AGS opens with OCS taking on SJA at 2:30 p.m., before AGS meets SMSS at 3:40 p.m. At Potters, JSS and PSS kick off at 2:30 p.m.

For these young footballers, school competition offers valuable lessons alongside the excitement of match day. Passing, positioning and finishing are part of the challenge, but so are communication, discipline and learning to work together when a game becomes difficult.

At Under-14 level, players are still developing their understanding of football. Every fixture provides an opportunity to build confidence, learn from mistakes and put training into practice. Coaches, teachers and parents can help by recognising effort, improvement and good sportsmanship alongside goals and results.

Representing a school also carries responsibility. Respecting officials, supporting teammates and competing fairly are qualities that deserve encouragement throughout the competition.

With five fixtures on the programme, the afternoon promises plenty of football and school spirit. Students, families and supporters are encouraged to come out, cheer positively and help create an atmosphere in which young talent can thrive.

Support your school. Celebrate the effort. Cheer on the next generation of footballers.
