School Pride Meets Week 3 Action
Secondary Schools Boys Football Championship 2026–27

School pride takes centre stage as Dominica's Secondary Schools Boys Football Championship enters Week 3, with seven matches scheduled from October 12 to 16. Featuring Under-15 and Under-20 teams, the fixtures will bring action to Newtown, Portsmouth and Stock Farm.

Monday's programme begins in Portsmouth, where Dominica Grammar School meets Portsmouth Secondary School in the Under-15 category at 2:00 p.m. At Newtown, ITSS faces PCSS at 2:30 p.m., also in Under-15 competition. The afternoon continues in Portsmouth with an Under-20 encounter between NECS and DSC at 3:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, October 14, ITSS and GSS meet in Under-20 action at Stock Farm, with kick-off scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

Three Under-15 fixtures complete the week on Friday, October 16. CBSS takes on DGS at Newtown at 2:00 p.m., while PSS faces ITSS in Portsmouth at 2:30 p.m. SMA and PCSS close the programme at Newtown at 3:30 p.m.

For the young footballers involved, representing their school carries responsibility. Every match offers an opportunity to practise teamwork, make decisions under pressure and respond positively to setbacks. Respect for coaches, officials and opponents remains as valuable as the ability to score or defend.

The student athlete's preparation also extends beyond training. Completing assignments, attending classes, managing time and allowing for rest all contribute to a balanced approach to school and sport. The discipline required to improve on the field can support progress in the classroom.

Teachers, parents and coaches play an essential role in that balance. Encouragement should recognise effort, learning and good conduct alongside results. A player who listens, supports teammates and keeps working after a difficult match is developing qualities that will serve them well beyond football.

As Week 3 unfolds, supporters are encouraged to come out and cheer on the teams. For the players, the challenge is clear: compete with commitment, learn from every game and wear your school colours with pride.

Represent your school with pride. Prepare with purpose.
